Hi Everyone,
I wanted to quickly remind everyone of the use of the
peace-announce list and since I also want to apologize for the pathetic
(in content and number) cc replies back and forth regarding the "Slavery in
Chocolate" issue.
Please don't post to peace-announce as an anonymous person or group
of anonymous people. Please take responsibility for your posts and
have the integrity to stand behind your statements. And since you should
only post to lists you are on, then you need to identify yourself so
that we can verify that you are on the list.
Please don't reply to posts on peace-announce with discussion. Please
take discussion over to peace-discuss so that folks with limited
mailbox quota can keep in the loop. Email peace-request to be added
to peace-discuss. And if you don't know how to remove yourself with
either blanche or listmaint or moira, please email peace-request
and *not* the entire list to be removed from any of these lists.
Also, please do not send to multiple lists in the cc line of a mail (in
hopes of averting the "Slavery and Chocolate" flame type of episode.)
It is safer to bcc the lists and then list them at the end of the body of
the email.
http://web.mit.edu/justice/www/email.html
gives guidelines for the Social Justice Cooperative mailing lists.
I know that many of the issues we try to tackle in the SJC
community are painful and contentious, but lets try to keep
up a high degree of integrity and mutual respect as we explore
these important issues.
In hope,
Aimee
