NATIONAL CALL-IN DAY TODAY 9/30
for Justice for Janitors at UNICCO
call 617/559-4167 & 800/283-9222
********************************
11,000 Boston janitors have been in contract negotiatons and they
are now set to strike on September 30. UNICCO, the largest of the
building contractors, has emerged as the major obstacle in the way of
decent wages, healthcare and full time job opportinities. Students in
Boston have been holding increasingly militant actions in support of
the janitors, with 7 already arrested and dozens more pledged to
follow suit.
TODAY 9/30, the expected strike date, United Students Against
Sweatshops is organizing a national call-in day against UNICCO in
solidarity with the janitors and their Boston-area supporters.
Call UNICCO, and tell them that janitors deserve decent wages,
fulltime jobs, and health care! Take five minutes to call UNICCO CEO
Steven Kletjian and tell him to negotiate fairly!
