Sanjay,

Is the sit-in still planned for Lobby 10? I would be glad to help with it, but I really think we should do it on the main (Mass Ave) steps instead of inside.

Reasons to do it on the steps instead of Lobby 10:

1) Mass Ave is a public highway; the lobby is an enclosed part of MIT's campus. This is an international issue, not a campus issue -- so shouldn't it be protested in as public a setting as possible?

2) if we do it outside, more people will see us -- including many non-MIT people just passing by in their cars

3) the steps are photogenic, and the steps crammed with sitter-inners will be a much more striking image than lobby 10 (also media will be more likely to cover us, if we are outside in a public location)

4) yes we might get cold, but at least we can go back to our nice oil-heated classrooms when we are done...

Incidentally how long are we planning to sit in for?

Jed
