There will be a booth in the Student Center this Wednesday to promote
International Women's Day and related things. It would be really great
if people could help out with that! By help out, I mean either work the
booth for an hour or help make the snazzy display for it.
If you can work the booth, please send me an e-mail with your free times
and I will work out a schedule and send it to everyone. I think from
10 a.m. to about 4 p.m. is a good amount of time.
I will be working on a title board and other things for the booth on Tuesday
night in the Bexley basement, starting around 8. That is at 50 Mass Ave
(the third entrance in the courtyard going clockwise) and you can just
knock on the door to be let in.
If your group has information you would like displayed at the booth or the
presentations in the evening, leave some fliers at Bexley desk (same as
above) in an envelope to me (PAULA HEANEY).
And just in case, here is the basic list of things we will be doing on
Wednesday: At the booth we will have different fliers for events, basic
information about women in the world (if anyone is particularly interested
in a certain topic, let me know), and handing out little candies with notes
to all the women as congratulations and celebration. At night, we will have
presentations of several groups on campus that deal with women's issues,
and will have the same fliers as at the booth for people to pick up if
interested. Then, at 8:00 (I must give credit to GAMIT for this, they
organized it) Kim Airs from Grand Openings will be speaking on women's
sexuality. Grand Openings is a store in Boston that calls itself a
sexuality botique.
Lots of good stuff, hope you can help out, but if you can't, at least drop
by the booth and pick up some candy! Okay, happy midterms and only two
weeks until spring break!
