hello.
this is wally holland, literary editor for technique, our so-called mit
yearbook.
SEND ME SOME TEXT (SORT OF) ABOUT MIT.
i want this year's yearbook to have a somewhat wider sample of mit writers
than last year's did. quality is of course an issue, but i trust you to
send in good stuff. in addition, since i'm 'editing' the text, your words
will be put to work in ways YOU'VE NEVER DREAMT OF!!
any style, any genre. it needn't be about mit; if it illuminates the story
of a year at our school, i can probably find a place for it. write about
your house, your housemates, your classes, your sport(s), your activities,
the girl you wish you'd said hi to in the cluster, the guy you know you
shouldn't have slept with at steer roast. write about drugs, rock and
roll, the weather, traveling, professors (why they suck and which ones
don't), even YOUR MOM. hell, i wrote about my mom in last year's book.
send submissions on to mr_mole@mit.edu. the yearbook basically gets put
together in january, but the sooner the text starts coming in, the better
our idea of what sort of yearbook it'll be, textually speaking.
SO DON'T BE A GODDAMN DEADBEAT. thank you.
cheers,
wally
ps. forward this on to anyone who might be interested.
