We had some problems with the account deactivation. The users table
in the database became corrupt, and had to be recreated from the
backup made at 5am this morning. I folded back in by hand the changes
made during the day after reloading this table.
After this the deactivation went OK, though very slowly. I've left a
shell script running which is removing mount points and renaming
volumes. Tomorrow I'll check to see that we are fully synched up on
that. The AFS protection database will need to be resynched again.
I've put the new idle screen MOTD in place, though I didn't change the
regular MOTD.
A record of what was done is in
/mit/moiradev/admin/deactivate.fall93.script. The list of accounts
deactivated is in /mit/moiradev/admin/deactivate.fall93b.
I think that's everything. I'll be in late tomorrow since I've been
logged in all evening pushing this through. My pager is on if you
find something broken and need help.
