Yes, it's being done intentionally, although I don't remember why. We
strip out a bunch of punctuation characters:
Illegal chars: ! " % ( ) , . / : ; < = > @ [ \ ] ^ { | }
Most of these are obvious. It may be a mistake to have period on the
list. Does anyone else remember why this was done?
In any case, this started happening last week when we started putting
the mailhub extract on Athena instead of the aliases extract. There
are 296 lists affected (I've got a list if you are interested).
