What were you trying to do?
I was trying to use blanche to set a mailing list to the contents
of a file. The file contained strings with spaces in them, i.e, of the
form
First Last <user@machine.mit.edu>
What's wrong:
All strings were truncated at the first space. In the example
above, the string entered would only be
First
What should have happened:
The entire string should have been recorded. I know that I can
do this using listmaint, so it seems that I should be able to do this
with blanche too. Putting the string within quotes, or within <>, or
adding string: in front of it didn't help either; it still did the same
thing. The consultants on olc seemed to agree that it was a bug that was
"not fixed in Version 7.1," and suggested that I send in a report. If you
have an idea of when it might be fixed, could you let me know, so I can
determine whether I should wait for the fix or try to work around it?
Thanks.
