Well, the "right way" to do this would be to set up a DCM for
you that could send you this data. From your side, this should just be
a matter of running update_server on the machine and knowing where to
look for the new file; it should be doable with minimal effort. I'd
encourage you to pursue this option.
That said, I can't really stop you from blanching the list once
a week, and you're right that there are no load issues involved in doing
so. In the past, things that pulled from moira have generally not coped
well with moira being down and had a host of other problems, which is
why we've encouraged people who want data from moira in an automated way
to request a DCM.
Let me know what option you end up pursuing.
