(Please advise if there is a better place to mail questions; this is the
only one I know for Moira.)

(You thought we already had this working a year ago?!)

I'm just starting to try to get Moira DCM to update servers, beginning with
Hesiod. Looking at the install.doc it talks about Kerberos keys in
/etc/srvtab file on the server. (The Moira server? The server to be updated?)
I have moira.machinename in /etc/srvtab on the Moira server and rcmd.machinename
on the Hesiod server I'm trying to update. It says sms.[NULL]@localrealm
is needed as well - how do I get a key with a null instance into a
srvtab file? (and does this go on the Moira machine or on the one being
updated, or both?)

Is the smskey program in the update directory used for anything? It
seems to want to append something to /etc/srvtab; maybe that's how I get
the sms.[NULL] key on?

Anyway, in /u1/sms/dcm/hesiod I get all the *.db files, and they are tarred
together into a file /u1/sms/dcm/hesiod.out

dcm.log shows
<date><pid> dcm: starting update for MORRIS.UCSC.EDU:hesiod
<date><pid> Unable to read from program: Interrupted system call
<date><pid> exited on segmentation violation signal; Core dumped
(I haven't been able to find the core file yet)

and on the Hesiod server I'm trying to update I get a message

FATAL GDB ERROR:

	create_forking_server: failed to accept client
