Primarily, yes.  The print server software has some capability to map
hwtype to supported content types for a given printer (ps, pcl, pjl,
...) and convert between them (e.g. printing a ps job to a pcl-only
printer), but Athena doesn't really use that part, having standardized
on Postscript for everything.
