Currently, for Pismere, we are installing printer-specific drivers for the
printers.
From previous investigation, it looks like we may be able to use the "MS
Publisher Color Printer" or "MS Publisher Imagesetter" printer drivers as
generic Postscript drivers. However, there may be some resistance to this
(but I don't really know). In any case, I'll look into the issues a bit
more closely. The info you provided will be very helpful in sorting this
out.
Btw, I am still a little unclear on how hwtype is used. Is it pretty much
strictly for figuring out how to communicate with the printer in regards to
things other than the actual print job (i.e. status info as opposed to
actual print jobs)?
