Acl entries are in terms of protection database id's, which are small
integers which eventually get recycled.  It's worse than orphans; the
files can get "adopted" when the prdb id gets recycled.. :-)

(it sounds like the "Janitor" takes care of cleaning this stuff up,
though..)
