It would be a big win to compile this read-only (cc -R). It's about 50K of
data which as far as I can tell is never modified. Here's the difference on
an RT:
% size /usr/athena/moira ./moira
text data bss dec hex
157696 112640 30660 300996 497c4 /usr/athena/moira
212992 57344 30768 301104 49830 ./moira
I ran the version with menus.o compiled -R, and it didn't dump core.
namespace.c, also in clients/moira, is another candidate for cc -R.
Also, compiling with gcc is a good idea on systems which have it (to make
strings be in the text segment).
