Dan tells me Jeff was losing when trying to use the 5.3 binaries.  I
don't understand why this is the case, since I've tested them on
pepe-lepew several times without a problem, but I backed out the
change and released the moira locker.  Tom, could you please look into
what the problem is here?  The 5.2 binaries are really old and crufty,
and missing a number of bugfixes, and it is just a matter of time
before we gett bitten by this.
