Project Name: Cell Phone & Pager Project
Project Leader: Joan Cyr/Jana Tarasenko
Report Date: July 9 , 2003
URL:http://web.mit.edu/is/tns/cpp-project/
Accomplishments in June:
* Held Q&A sessions with selected phone vendors;
* Further reviewed RFP responses
* Participated in audio conference "how to negotiate winning wireless
deals"
* Continued "fine tuning" written recommendations for Phase I
+ Held "check in" with Project Sponsors to outline our recommendation
direction to date; received concurrence with our direction, while
receiving some suggestions as to other points we need to address in
the recommendations
Goals for July
* Finalize recommendations for Phase I;
* Get Project Sponsor and ITLT approval;
* Notify vendors of our decision
* Negotiate T's and C's
* Make contact with MIT Affiliates to get them on board with addendum
contract negotiations
* Draft website announcement for MIT Community, including "tips for
cell phone use" section
* Announce our findings to the MIT community
Issues
* After all our analysis, meetings, focus groups, conference calls,
literature review, and other resource gathering, we still don't know how
many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie
Pop. Other than that, we're doing ok. ;o)
