Issues:
I'm taking this out of order but the rest of my comments will not make any
sense unless I discuss Issues first. To our considerable disappointment,
our pilot class decided to end their participation in this test. We are now
taking stock of lessons learned and considering how best to make the
necessary improvements.
Accomplishments past period:
Continued to identify problems (technical, policy, instructional, etc.) and
possible solutions.
Goals:
We need to find solutions to the following problems:
* Files are slow to load and to print. How can we make them more
manageable? There is also some suggestion that the sofware may have been
causing problems with some of the web server transactions; we need to
investigate and solve this.
* Students do not always know how to configure their browsers properly for
the best results. We need to do a better job of training or at least of
assembling and disseminating documentation on how this works.
* The Libraries may wish to reevaluate the policy of having no print backup
copy on reserve
Additional comments:
Naturally we are all disappointed at this setback. Nevertheless we remain
confident that we can resolve our issues, and we'll keep trying.
