Accomplishments past period:
After meeting with our sponsors we have further developed the rate models
for telecom and network. In both cases, we have come up with completely
new structures. The telecom model is nearing completion and looks like it
will be simple, flexible, and good for customers. The network model will
take some more work, especially in the area of allocating costs into the
appropriate "buckets."
Goals for the coming period:
- Complete analysis for telecom model.
- Bring analysis for network model close to finish.
- Start drafting various sections of our report.
Issues:
We need to have a reliable capital budget in order to determine network
rates. Since costs are changing rapidly in this area, we would like to
develop rates based on planned expenditures rather than past expenditures.
Getting these numbers in the past have proved to be quite difficult.
Key learnings:
That as a team we can actually make some important decisions (with support
from our sponsors, of course) and move forward quickly.
Team dynamics:
A renewed sense of enthusiasm as we can see the end approaching.
