Accomplishments past period:
We met with the sponsors (Jim, Dennis) to give them an update on our
progress. They gave us some general guidance which will allow us to narrow
down our options and further develop a few of the options for the rate
model. We also started drafting a skeleton for the report.
We also met with two more customer groups -- the AO's from Engineering and
the AO's from Science. The sessions were useful in communicating to the
customer what our progress has been so far. There were, of course, some
volatile discussions, but overall the result was good.
Goals for the coming period:
Meet again with Jim and Dennis to present numbers. Set up a meeting with
John Curry and Doreen Morris.
Issues:
We need to think about all the questions that need to be answered to finish
this final phase of the project. We estimate that we are about a month
away but still there are a lot of outstanding questions we have not
addressed. If we do not address them, it will be doubtful that we could
make the deadline.
Key learnings:
We have done a lot so far, but we need to start documenting some of our
findings and writing up the report. There have been some important
learnings about how our customers perceive IS (very negatively, with
distrust and lack of confidence, in some cases). These are issues outside
the scope of our project but ones that IS needs to take seriously.
Team dynamics:
Nothing new.
