Accomplishments past period:
- Have accomplished installation of the IMP web mail product including
various supporting components; we are still debugging some issues in IMP
authenticating to our post office servers. We expect these to be
resolved by early next week.
Goals for the coming period:
- Have both the IMP and Silky Mail web mail solutions installed and
ready to test by the team.
Issues:
- Anne Salemme (our Netops representative on the team) encountered
difficulties in installing the EMU Mail web server product. Anne is not
comfortable with some of the technical requirements of this product at
the server level as related to our current web server standards. She has
recommended we defer further consideration of this product for the
present time. This recommendation was accepted by the Team Leader. We
still have two other products which remain under consideration (IMP and
Silky Mail).
Key learnings:
- Too little time allocated to initial set-up and configuration. This
was a bit of an unknown when our initial project schedule was developed.
On the positive side, we are picking up a lot of good technical
information through the installation and set-up work. This will prove
invaluable in arriving at a final recommendation.
Team dynamics:
- Most of the effort to date has been concentrated with Anne Salemme and
Matt Brody. The remainder of the team patiently awaits availability of
the test products.
Additional comments:
- None.
