Accomplishments Past Period:
- Completed week-long vendor demos for the two finalists. These
took place at the end of July and first week of August.
- Held de-briefing sessions with all functional areas, as well as
feedback session with SAP group participants, and Ray Cheng from the
MIT Auditors office.
- Formalized contents of staff de-briefing sessions into structured
documents.
- Met with Asst. Director of Technology Planning and
Administration, Eric Celeste, to
discuss report and final vendor recommendation to Library
Steering Committe.
- Draft of final vendor recommendation submitted to Library Steering
Committee.
Goals for the coming period:
- Meet with Steering Commitee to discuss draft vendor recommendation
report.
- Complete revisions and Submit final vendor recommendation to
Steering Committee.
- Upon Steering Committe's approval, hold Town Meeting with Library
staff to announce vendor choice.
- Begin work on next phase: migration and implementation issues.
Issues:
- Either of the systems demonstrated will have significant staffing
implications for the Systems Office group that will administer and
maintain the new library management system.
Team Dynamics:
- We're looking forward to having an official vendor for the new
library management system.
