Accomplishments Past Period:
- Launched team
- Reviewed work done by NTIP (Network & Telephone Installation Process)
Team and sought various perspectives on how this project ties in with their
objective and recommendations.
- Got background and details of recent organizational changes, including
establishment of VDIST team
- Drafted preliminary charter
- Began conducting interviews with VDIST team members, sponsors, and key
stakeholders to collect feedback on what the scope of the project should
be, requirements for the transaction system, and so on
Goals for Next Period:
- Complete interviews
- Complete requirements analysis
- Delve more deeply into possible options for a transaction system,
including use of Casetracker
- Meet with VDIST, sponsors, and key stakeholders to review analysis,
recommendations, and options
Issues:
- As a newly formed team, VDIST is working through many organizational
issues right now. This discovery effort is not focusing on the
organizational issues, rather is concentrating on the work itself and the
data that is generated and passed from place to place during the course of
the work. Even though this distinction feels comfortable to everyone
involved, there is still a lot overlap and potential for confusion.
Key learnings:
- I can't escape from network installations no matter how hard I try! ;-)
