Project Name: EHSS - Environmental Health & Safety Management System
Project Leader: Rob Smyser, Rocklyn Clarke
Report Date Jun 21, 2000

Accomplishments past period:
- prepared presentation on project status to give to Senior Management
June 21 (today). Meeting was postponed so that Sr.Mgmt could attend Roz
Williams' going-away. Possible reschedule to July 11 @ 2:00 pm
- held detailed technical meeting with EMAX and Sciquest representatives,
to nail down the precise nature of the customizations we might require if
we adopted their system. Productive.
- phone interview with LFR Technologies, who make the ASP development
environment within which the GreenSuite EMS was developed. Will need to
make a table of comparison between this system and EMAX. Greensuite has no
purchasing connection apart from receiving our data from SAP. But
Greensuite has more sophisticated SARA Title III, for example, reporting.
- attended EMCC Stellar project presentation at *MG 6/20/2000. Looks like
this is the system environment within which the EHSMS courseware would want
to be developed/delivered.
Goals for the coming period:
- Complete a functional description for the project as we know it today.
- Have a conversation with Susan Azary re integration perspective (esp now
that we're nearly finished with conceptual data modelling).
- Write discovery report.
Issues:
Bob Brown's Committee on the Environment, or whatever its precise title
is, is going to rear its head, and will probably want to plant some
representatives on to the team. This will change the nature of the team
considerably.
Need to look for Delivery-stage leadership.
Key learnings:
Few competitors to EMAX use similar MIT-style technical architectures.
Team dynamics:
All is well.
