Accomplishments past period
- Conducted a one-day off-site to work through developing the preliminary
rate model. We were able to define our costing philosophy and document
learnings from customers and other institutions.
- Met with the Assistant Deans to get their input on the rate project.
- Met with Facilities to discuss the cost recovery model for utilities at MIT.
- Continue to develop model and nail down costs.
- Formulated a detailed workplan through end of project.
Goals for the coming period
- Meet with Prof. Hausman of Economics to discuss pricing.
- Come up with preliminary rates.
- Start impact analysis of effect of rate changes on DLC's.
Issues
- We need to find the appropriate time at which to update our sponsors.
One largely unanswered question is what John Curry will think of all this.
We don't want to get so far and then find out that some of our options are
completely unacceptable.
Key learnings
- Our large efforts to interact with customers seem to be paying off.
Many are reacting positively, although everyone has questions.
