Accomplishments past period:
- Continued review of business functions within HR-Payroll
- Sponsors met with Bob Brown & John Curry - team prepared a two page
summary document for that discussion
- Conducted conference call with Duke
- Refined work structures & assignments
- Established contact with Laura Avakian, new VP for HR
- Scheduled first meeting with Doreen Morris and Asst Deans group
- Scheduled first meeting with AAC
- Established contact with SAP consultants
- Began to define the outline for the Final Report
Goals for the coming period
- Meet with Asst. Deans and AAC; determine next steps
- Begin to define the deliverables and to hone the requirements and issues
- Continue information gathering, education, requirements work
- Meet again with sponsors
- Schedule demos and site visits
- Scheduled to meet with the ASPCC on Nov. 10
- Scheduling design & modelling sessions with Scott.
Issues:
- Increasing intensity for the work
- Need to insure fit between MIT strategic goals and the work of the team
- Need to insure broad participation and buy-in to the work from the
various customer groups across campus
Key learnings
- Good team, complex topic, there's a lot to learn
- The discussions are rich and critical to moving the work forward.
- The Sponsors efforts on behalf of the project are critically important.
Team dynamics:
- Solid, focused team, great knowledge base for the work.
- Shifting from listening and learning to active use of the information and
beginning analysis.
