Accomplishments past period:
- Began educational process with team members presenting his/her
business area
- Welcomed Scott Thorne & Alyce Johnson to the team
- Met with Sponsors
- Established rough work structure and activities
- Esther created the project notebook
- Continued team recruitment effort for DLC participation
- Established contact with Nebraska and Duke
Goals for the coming period
- Create detailed work plan
- Begin to define the deliverables and to hone the requirements and issues
- Continue information gathering, education, requirements work
- Meet again with sponsors
- Schedule demos and site visits
- Establish participation with AO's and others.
Issues:
- A lot of work in a short amount of time
- Need to insure fit between MIT strategic goals and the work of the team
- Need to insure broad participation and buy-in to the work from the
various customer groups across campus
Key learnings
- Good team, complex topic, there's a lot to learn
- The discussions are rich and critical to moving the work forward.
- Having the Sponsors visit was critically important.
Team dynamics:
- Solid, focused team, great knowledge base for the work.
- Following sponsor's visit, a sense of focus and energy for the team's work
emerged.
