Project Name: Publishing Services Bureau ECAT
Project Leader: Lorraine Rappaport
Report Date: 5/5/99
Accomplishments for the past period:
- Met with PSB director to check-in. Recalibrated expectations, scope,
etc. based on new developments in PSB (new hires, additional hiring plans,
other related efforts, etc.).
- Held additional brainstorming sessions on possible design options for
both interim and end-state
Goals for the coming period:
- Draft interim plan proposal and present to other PSB staff
Issues:
- PSB's resource prognosis looks reasonably good, but it still might take
time to ramp up and dedicate effort to this project again.
- Sorting out how we might use low-tech, quick-win interim options to
provide some workload relief, work toward the desired end-state, and
measure customer receptiveness to a new way of ordering business forms yet
not invest huge amounts of time and money unless/until we are convinced the
return is worth the investment.
Key Learnings:
- In pursuing a low-tech, quick-win interim approach, we need to make sure
that our efforts to scale up toward the desired end-state are not perceived
as teasing the customer.
