Project Name: Enterprise Printing
Project Leader: Dave Lambert
Report Date: 03/24/1999
Project Notebook: http://web.mit.edu/is/discovery/enter-print/

Accomplishments for the past period:
- met with Greg & Theresa to finalize staffing issues for technical
design and business modeling work; agreed to shoot for 9/1 ramp-up
- developed more detailed near-term WBS; updated WBS & timeline
- very close to finalizing technical design charter and deliverables
- held several additional 1-on-1 interviews for data gathering;
  documented more interview results
- finalized focus group plans
- Lynne attended the regional XPLOR in the big city

Goals for the coming period:
- hold meeting with targeted technical design resources to clarify
work via new charter & deliverables; obtain commitments
- begin holding bi-weekly check-ins with sponsor
- develop business modeling charter and deliverables (carry over)
- hold more 1-on-1 interviews and document same
- begin scheduling focus group meetings (carry over)
- plan for ITLT check-in

Issues:
Resources, resources, resources...everyone's busy and overbooked. We're
looking forward to discussing resource management and allocation issues
with ITLT at our 4/8 check-in.

Key learnings:
A good team can overcome significant challenges. It's way too easy to
underestimate the work - even when using good project management practices.

Team dynamics:
We'll miss Lynne for a few days. Mary Ellen shoots a mean pistol. Tim's
learning to duck well. I'm thinking about spiking the coffee with sedatives.

Additional comments:
Parking lot issue: is there a difference between a "service" and
an "infrastructure component"? More discussion is needed with ITIT
and within the team.
