URL: http://web.mit.edu/is/discovery/discuss-bd/
Accomplishments in June and July
- enlisted Ed Dolan for assistance with focus group moderation
- created and posted posters for student focus groups
- recruited subjects (phone, email, posters) and conducted
three focus group sessions:
- students
- faculty
- alumni
- had discussions regarding refinement/weighting of requirements
list in light of focus-group results; created a grid for
comparison of contender products
- continued product identification and evaluation process
- looked at:
- existing webcrossing application (forums.mit.edu)
- installed free version of Webcrossing 5 for evaluation
- continued survey of peer institutions
- CS and PH met with Webcrossing manager at Harvard GSE
Goals for next period
- Identify top contender products; install for further evaluation
- usability testing of top contenders
- investigate Stellar integration issues for top contenders
Next Community Milestone
- determination of final product group
Issues:
- One team member has left MIT. Several others have expressed the need
to cut back on project work due to other commitments. The technical core
crucial to the next phase remains reasonably intact, though.
Additional comments:
Team member vacations and cutbacks in commitment levels have slowed
progress somewhat.
