We have the Beta 6 working fine on a variety of platforms, but the
problem that I am now experiencing is that although a user can do
the 'kinit' command fine, and gets the ticket, when he tries the
'kpasswd' command, the following error returns:
% kpasswd
Enter old password:
Enter new password:
Re-enter new password:
kpasswd: server error (Old password incorrect) during change password request.
kpasswd - server: Password incorrect.
The password the users enters is correct, otherwise kpasswd would fail
after the 'old passwd' prompt.
Our kdc.conf file is as follows:
[kdcdefaults]
kdc_ports = 750,88
[realms]
IIT.EDU = {
profile = /etc/krb5.conf
kdc_ports = 750,88
max_life = 10h 0m 0s
max_renewable_life = 7d 0h 0m 0s
master_key_type = des-cbc-crc
supported_enctypes = des-cbc-crc:normal des:normal des:v4 des:afs3
This didn't occur when we were testing on a small scale and my only guess
is the other 'supported enctypes' have something to do with it, which I
had added to support v4 and afs for the future.
Is there some type of 'chpasswd' instance in the kdb that's needed?
Thanx.
