new directory layout

Ok...I'll bite...WHY was the decision made to drop the
/krb5/.... directory layout? I just did a "make install" and blew
away half my krb4 binaries in /usr/local/bin and dropped stuff I'll
never be able to find all over my directory structure...IMHO moving
away from the old layout makes it very difficult to maintain and
upgrade a krb5 installation. Is there any reasonable way (via
configure or whatever) to override this to get the old layout?
