How to move the old database to the new?

Here is what I have: Linux 1.2.13, with the latest kbeta6 compiled
fine. An earlier compile of beta 5 is peacefully coexisting because
the default directories are different.

I can make a new principal database with the new beta 6.
I can run kdb5_edit on it, start the new daemon with the new
database, etc.
What I cannot do is load the 'ddb' file from the beta5 principal
database using 'lddb'. When I toggle verbose mode I see the list of
names as the lddb routine parses the database file I'm trying to
import, but when I do an 'ldb' I don't see the transferred names.

Any pointers? Thanks in advance...
