How do you use kerberos telnet as root?

I am running Kerberos 4, and I am having a problem using
telnet. If I telnet in as a normal user, everything works
fine and it does not prompt me for the password. If
I telnet in to the root account, it always asks me for
the password, even though I have an entry in the /.klogin
file. It gives the following sequence:
[ Trying KERBEROS4 ... ]
[ Kerberos V4 accepts you ]
[ Kerberos V4 challenge successful ]
Password:
Is there some secret to telnetting in as root?
