Hello,
Roger Roach can claim yet another first. His Service Activities are completely up to date in the IS Work database. Friday afternoon he and I sat down and went through his entire inventory. The whole job was done in less than two hours.
There were a few anomalies that surfaced. We invented a 3D-03 Initiative to store the purely financial Activities. There will be a need for similar initiatives to store cost objects and narrative - IF we want to regenerate the budget book from IS Work. This decision can be left to one of our later ITLT sessions, but for now we felt it best to preserve the information that was uploaded from the Budget Book.
While watching Roger, I also completed all the Process and Practice headquarters activities, connecting them to Initiative 4C10 -Perform IS Leadership, so these are all done in consistent manner. I'd like to work with the rest of you, including Dani, to ensure that all the other info is reasonably consistent. So please holler when you are free.
The good news is that setting up the Activities is fairly quick and easy; IS Work is a good tool. The bad news is that Roger got there first :-0
Cheers, Bob
NB. For the record, we are also noting usability type nits. The current list is:
1. IS Reporting Responsibility needs more options on the pick list now that Activities are included.
2. We might think of an e-mail mailto: link on Responsible Person.
3. The Initiatives are quite numerous, almost too big for a pick list.
4. Customers should have a scroll bar for data entry.
After we have had more experience, I'll review the list with Tim, Kris, and Kevin.
