Bob / Dani,

Please review the following proposal that Kris and I have put together, and give
us your feedback, questions and comments. Once we have your go-ahead, we will
meet with Phil to get the process started.

Phil would populate an Excel spreadsheet which contains four (see note below)
columns of information, and one row for each business plan. We will map the
business plan fields into these four columns as follows:

Business Plan Field -> IS Work / Activity Field
----------------------- ------------------------
Name & Cost Center Activity Name
Purpose + Work + Goals Description
Vision Justification
Customers Customers

Note: if any of the following IS Work fields are easily knowable (by ISVP) and
therefore enterable by Phil, we could add additional column to the Excel spreadsheet:

Unmapped IS Work / Activity Field
     ---------------------------------
     Practice
     Priority
     URL
     Status
     Responsible Person
     Sponsor
     Process

It would seem that Practice, Process or Responsible Person might be the most
likely candidates...but I will leave that to you all to decide.

Once Phil has a spreadsheet with all of the business plans in it, he will send
it to <knyzio@mit.edu>, who will bulk load the data into the database. At that
point, there will still be maintenance required, to fill in any of the fields
above that are relevant, and then to link individual activities to their
relevant initiatives. I believe that such entry/linking is properly the
province of the ITLT member who is responsible for the activity.

Tim
