Does anyone have rsh, ftp, inetd working properly with rs_aix31 (afs 3.1
and aix 3.1, 3003 build)? I start inetd like this:
cd /usr/afsws/etc
nohup ./inetd-afs -d inetd.conf > /tmp/inetd-afs.log 2>&1 &
I try rsh between two systems running afs inetd:
rsh <systemname>
seems to work ok, but
rsh <systemname> /bin/ls
never returns, and results in the following going to /tmp/inetd-afs.log:
ADD : shell proto=tcp, wait=0, user=root builtin=0 server=/usr/afsws/etc/rshd
ADD : ta-rauth proto=tcp, wait=0, user=root builtin=20047de8 server=internal
someone wants shell
accept, ctrl 4
forking
child 23149
23149 reaped (status 256)
What is the reaped business? For what it's worth, /etc/inetd.conf modified to
use /usr/afsws/etc/ftpd gives "User grossman access denied"...
