If I recall correctly, there was a CMU-invented AFS client for NeXTStep using
something like AFS 3.0 or 3.1.  

It was incredibly flaky; people screamed and cried about it all the time.  Even
if some crazy fool still has it around somewhere, I'm not sure it would be
particularly compatible with today's servers, even just for file access.
