We are moving our large ftp / archive machine to AFS. Related to the
setting up of the anonymous ftp a problem occured. The ftpd (we use
the version from U of Washington) does a chroot to it's home directory
(in the AFS tree now), the only programs needed by the ftpd daemon
are ls, compress and tar. But running under SunOs these programs need
access to /dev/zero and I can't make special files in AFS. Is there a
way around this problem ?
thanks,
