My last note said that we have been running AFS 3.1 on Sun OS 4.1.1 and
that we haven't seen problems. I should have said that we have been
running AFS clients on Sun OS 4.1.1. We had not tried to run servers
yet. Needless to say, the changes that David Nichols pointed out in
the inode structure in Sun OS 4.1.1 cause AFS server code to not
function on Sun OS 4.1.1. When we tested it, we were not able to even
create a volume, so there is no chance of anyone accidentally setting
up AFS servers on Sun OS 4.1.1. This does not affect the client code,
only the server code. We will be looking into the problem. We do
not have an estimated date for support of AFS servers on Sun OS 4.1.1 at
this time.
