We have installed versions of TeX for the IBM 6000's and Sun4's. We did
not reference any afs libraries for any of our installed software.

TeX seems to be the only program that fails to work properly with afs.
TeX fails only when:
referencing a file on the afs path (e.g. cwd is /afs/ce/user/foo/foo.tex,
'tex foo' will return 'File or path does not exist', or under other
circumstances will return 'pseudo' devices (e.g. beh: The specified
        device does not exist).
Tex will work when:
the cwd and file are on the local disk (e.g. /tmp).

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Any and all help appriciated.
