I'd like to announce the public release of the first member of the AFS-3
programming spec suite. The document is named:
AFS-3 Programmer's Reference: File Server/Cache Manager Interface
PostScript and .dvi (suitable for on-screen perusal via xtex) versions
may be found in the following directory:
/afs/grand.central.org/darpa/doc/afs/specs/progint/fscm
These files are (of course) visible to the entire AFS community.
I welcome all comments and suggestions regarding the form and content of
this document. For those people wishing to examine this spec but who
don't have AFS running at their sites, an anonymous FTP arrangement will
soon be announced.
The next programming spec slated for release in this fashion will cover
the Rx RPC facility that all AFS servers and clients use. I will post
another message on this bboard/mailing list when it becomes available.
