AFS solves many problems, but it definitely introduces new ones too,
like this one. You end up having to install things differently than you
used to.
Another interesting question is what to do once you start replicating
readonly volumes, but you have a software package that expects to have
write access to a directory that you've replicated, maybe just to lock a
file there.....
