Question:
I am trying to create a new mail folder on the IMAP server but I am
unable to do so. I get an error message that indicates "permission
denied".
Solution:
Our IMAP servers only permit you to create new folders at the level of
'Inbox' or lower in your IMAP folder directory.
Note: A typical IMAP folder directory might look like this when viewed
from your email program ...
POxx.mit.edu+ <---------------- This is your assigned post
office
Inbox+ <---------------- This is your Inbox; all new folders
must be a subfolder of the 'Inbox' or lower in this directory structure.
