I am having trouble getting AMD (Automount Daemon) to using the Hesiod map
type. The version of AMD we are using is 5.3-a14. We give a command line
option to AMD as follows:
/mnt hesiod.test -type:=direct
According to the manual, this should map to a DNS entry like the following:
/mnt.test.automount HS TXT "type:=nfs;opts:=rw,hard,intr;rfs:=/foobar;rhost:=barfoo"
This entry is in a file called automount.db.
I can do a hesinfo command like 'hesinfo /mnt.test automount' and get the above
information back but if I try starting AMD I get:
hesiod_reload: Giving up on test.automount.ns.compaq.com
This should not be what is generated. If I read the manual and sources
correctly, it should be:
/mnt.test.automount.ns.compaq.com
AMD ends up mounting /mnt on top of itself and never reading the map. This
results in a stale NFS file handle. We have been using file maps for quite
some time without any problems.
This is running under SunOS 4.1.1.
Any help would be appreciated.
