Accomplishments during August 2002:
- Move Carto to W92 machine room
- Upgrade Oracle, Apache and ArcIMS on Carto to be a staging server
- Athena Ops to accommodate full backup of arrowsmith (short term solution)
- Continue work on ArcView SDE Interface.
- Continue loading data
- Continue creating MARC records
- HTML records also be created in XML
- Load XML records onto SDE server
- Continue work on ArcGis interface.
- Miki start work on ArcIMS version 4
Goals for September.
- Release of MIT customized interface for ArcView
- Create help menu and documentations for the ArcView interface.
- Write installer for the interface
- Test the interface on Windows 98, NT, 2000 and XP
- Usability test of the ArcView interface
- GIS brochure
- Continue work on ArcGIS interface
- Team get together and celebrate the release of the interface
- Work on long term and scalable solution for backup, recovery,
authentication and authorization.
Issues
- Current ArcView interface authentication/authorization mechanism is
valid for this release and not applicable when we move to more stringent
requirements to access sensitive and/or licensed data.
- Backup and Recovery
Next Community Milestone:
Announce service with data loaded and backup with an Athena interface and
goals for a web interface.
