Accomplishments during last period:

- Created two example options for evaluation purposes customizing the
appearance of the search results to be used on queries from the MIT home page.
- Participated in discussions with the Network Team about these options and
gathered feedback from the sponsor Kathryn Willmore.
- Reviewed how other search sites such as Dell and BU deal with displaying
search results for "special" queries.
- Created a FileMaker database in which the WCS team will input special
urls; the database will output the XML file that will be uploaded, tested,
and released for use by the search engine.
Goals for next period:

- Define the appearance of the search results from the MIT home page by
July 31
- Populate the special urls database by July 31
- Finalize the process and frequency of updates by July 31
- Write guidelines for WCS to make decisions about which urls get special
url status by July 31
- Get feedback from the Usability team by August 15
Next community milestone:
