Accomplishments Past Period:

* After the various upgrades of the E40 SAN and Netbackup infrastructure,
our testing has revealed that we still have a lot of issues to resolve
before
we can start the W91 implementation.
* Established a list of open issues with the E40 NetBackup implementation
* Met with our sponsor.
* Met with asst and several Compaq representatives to identify and resolve
the outstating issues linked to the SAN and the Tru64 OS.
* Recovered the Netbackup Master Server (dillinger) after the loss of the
root partition.
This unplanned outage and recovery will be used as a base for the
bare-metal restore documentation.
* Re-activated the Netbackup Vault functionality in E40.
Goals for the Coming Period:
----------------------------
* Work with Asst and Compaq to resolve the open issues with the E40 SAN and
Netbackup infrastructure.
* Document bare-metal restore procedure based on the recovery of the
recovery of the Netbackup Master servers.
* Document restore test plan including various restore scenarios and detailed
procedures.
* Complete the W91 roll out plan.
* Get buy-in from key stakeholders (ASST, R3-Admin, DOST) on the E40
implementation.
* Start the W91 implementation
* Update project documentation and web pages.
Issues:
-------
* This project is still suffering of a shortage of ASST resources.
This is slowing down the resolution of the outstanding issues and
delaying the W91 implementation.
