Accomplishments during April 2002:
-Start to compile data loading instructions.
-Test data loading continues
-Start code to implement SDE data acquisition instructions.
-Determine naming structure for files.
-Continue to research data disappearances in SDO format with vendor support.
-Research security in Oracle/SDE/ArcIMS/Web Certificates.
-Discussed server upgrade to new Athena release with Athena OPS and declined.
-Conducted weekly GIS update meeting.
-Started hiring process for student data loader
Goals for May:
-Develop backup strategy for data.
-Upgrade Apache SSL to current version.
-Upgrade SDE and Oracle.
-Conduct monthly GIS update meeting.
-Train student data loader
-Load data
-Develop metadata records for inclusion in Barton (in MARC format)
Future plans:
-Load initial data in June.
-Load MARC records in Barton.
-Continue discussion on search interface for records.
-Launch first phase of data services.
-Implement backup strategy.
-Research Oracle support for XML and Oracle Intermedia.
Next Community Milestone:
Announce service with data loaded and backup with an Athena interface and
goals for a web interface (Late summer 2002).
