Accomplishments this period:
- Completed write-up on charge rates for sponsored research use, and
sent to sponsor.
- Obtained sponsor approval for purchase of 6 Sun Netra X1 servers
to replace the current Ultra 5's for the fall, taking advantage of
Sun's 2-for-1 deal.
- Checked in with support concerning the sign-up process.
- Began working on porting to Athena 9.1 (alpha); built and tested on
IRIX.
- Reviewed proposed article for upcoming Insider issue.
- Responded to a couple of queries/problems from spring term users;
usage has been lighter than expected.
Goals for next period:
- Work on deploying new Linux slaves, when they are all here.
- Complete sign-up forms.
- Possible follow-up on charge rates for sponsored research use.
- Update documentation for roll-out.
- Continue port to Athena 9.1.
