Accomplishments past period:
----------------------------
- Installed and configured OS on all TSM SUN production servers.
- Completed Phase 1 of 3494 tape library upgrade. Includes conversion of
3590 drive to fiber attach, drive relocation, frame modification and cation
network connectivity.
- Connected and configured VM mainframe storage on ESS.
- Finalized SAN design and implemented SAN configuration. Participated
in SAN/SHARK skills transfer with IBM Business Partner.
- Finalized TSM user migration plan.

- SAN design and implementation completed.
Goals for next month:
---------------------
- Finalize TSM user migration notice and send to TSM user community.
Update TSM web page with user announcement.
- Decide on policy for unreachable TSM subscribers during user
migration periods.
- Decide who will deal with customer followup issues during user
migration. Help Desk does not have enough EFT to do this.
- Begin IS newsletter article.
- Define user transition script requirements, write initial scripts and
begin testing.
- Work on hardware and software documentation for Sun Servers,
SAN/switches, 3494 tape library and the IBM ESS.
- Test the various hardware components within the SAN environment, ie:
Sun server access to disk and tape drives, etc.
- Perform multi-system testing to determine the impact, if any, of
Mainframe and Opens Systems sharing of the IBM ESS.
- Install TSM on Sun server(s).
- Begin migration of TSM VM data to IBM ESS
Additional comments:

- As a followup to the problems with the SUN rack mount kits last
month, SUN reps came in. They inspected and replaced two rack mount
rail kits and adjusted the other three.
- Rearrangement of hardware in the racks is planned to minimize some
cables from protruding to far out.
